Hi there, thanks for visiting!
Call me Rane or JaF. This is just another blog of mine out of four other active blogs. But this time I decided to blog in English, a language which definitely is not my native language. So, please excuse the messy Jafglish or JaF’s English
(I know.. I know corny..)
Why English? Despite the fact that lately there has been talks about “bridge blogging” or blogging outside of ones native language which could act as somekind of bridge between two cultures, I am still not confident enough to say that I’m one of those bridge bloggers.
My main intention is merely to practice my English as much as possible, especially written English. I may live in a country where majority of people speaks English ‘lah’
, but my line of work does not involve a lot of English especially written.
Next, I want to broaden my circle of friends outside the Indonesian speaking world through blogging. I like to think that I have succesfully done that by blogging in Bahasa Indonesia, but not English.
Lastly. As much as I want to play the role of taking part in spreading a better image of Indonesia to the world which I think is still unequally represetented by media -western, eastern, southern or whatsoever media- as a dangerous country with all the travel warnings, I dont think I’m capable enough of doing such thing. Like other country, my country has it’s good and bad side. But personally I agree with what many others that it is definitely a very dangerous place. Yes, Indonesia is dangerously beautifull
So thanks again for visiting and hope you will be able to find anything usefull here. Otherwise, you know what to do, right?
Cheers,
JaF
